IL RTE 7 (159th Street) Watermain and Sanitary Relocation

  • The project involved the relocation of watermain, sanitary sewer, and sanitary forcemain along an approximately 3.5 mile stretch of IL Route 7 (159th Street).
  • The project included over 1.5 miles of new 10”watermain installation; 0.25 miles of new 12” watermain installation, and 1.0 mile of new 16” watermain installation.
  • The project included 1.0 mile of sanitary sewer and sanitary sewer force main of various sizes between 6” to 15” mains.

Utility Coordination was required with AT&T, BP, Comcast, ComEd, Exxon Mobil, Village of Homer Glen, Village of Orland Park, Nicor, People’s Gas & the Illinois Department of Transportation. Illinois American Water relocations were successfully completed prior to the construction project and did not cause any delays to the IDOT Roadway project.

One of the unique aspects of this project was ICE was the liaison engineer between Illinois Department of Transportation and Illinois American Water to help in permit approval and proper documentation for all reimbursable.

The project was completed on time and under budget.
