Illinois Construction & Environmental Consulting, Inc. is currently serving as a subconsultant on this $116.9 million bridge construction project. The McClugage Bridge has served the Peoria metro area for more than 70 years and the eastbound removal and bridge replacement will improve capacity, increase safety, and reduce travel times to meet the region’s transportation needs when completed in 2023.
The project includes the construction of a new 23-span tied arch bridge supported on steel pile and drilled shaft foundations and reinforced concrete piers and abutments; the construction of a new 2-span, 183’ long structure carrying US 150 (EB) over IL 29; new culvert ramp SW over the Illinois River Tributary, removal of US 150 EB over the Illinois River and removal of US 150 EB over IL Route 29. Roadway improvements include resurfacing, reconstruction and widening along EB US 150, improvements to various ramps ad the IL 29/US 150 interchange in Peoria County and the IL 116/US24/US150 interchange in Tazewell County.
Additional work includes; removal of existing pavement, shoulder, sidewalk, curb & gutter, earthwork and embankment, erosion control measures, drainage items, subbase improvements, sidewalks and driveways with ADA ramps, pavement markings, signing and landscape restoration.
