Illinois Construction & Environmental Consulting, Inc. served as Prime consultant on this $14.1 million roadway reconstruction project.
This ACEC Honor Award winning project was the first time the Tollway included 3D modeling as part of its contract requirements and was one of two projects that was a part of their pilot initiative.
The Illinois Route 47 Interchange project included the reconstruction of existing ramps and the construction of three new ramps to create a new full access interchange and accommodate travel to and from the East and improve access to Westbound I-88.
The project consisted of reconstruction of the existing ramp from Southbound IL 47 to Westbound I-88; reconstruction of the existing ramp from Eastbound I-88 to IL 47, construction of a new ramp from IL 47 to Eastbound I-88 (including installation of a new ramp Toll Plaza), construction of crash investigation sites on Eastbound and Westbound I-88, construction of storm water detention ponds and storm water release structures, adjustment or removal of existing drainage structures and construction of new drainage structures, roadway lighting, installation of steel plate beam guardrail, pavement marking and delineation, maintenance of traffic and restoration of landscaping.
