Illinois Construction & Environmental Consulting, Inc. served as a subconsultant on this $13.8 million roadway/bridge/pavement and structural preservation and rehabilitation project on the Tri-State Tollway.
(ICE was asked to step into the role of Resident Engineer prior to the beginning of the project) The project consisted of pavement restoration and shoulder improvements on the northbound/southbound mainlines and ramps along the Tri-State Tollway (I-294) This included structural rehabilitation and repairs such as; approach slab and transition slab patching, bridge painting, deck sealing and substructure and superstructure repairs on 42 bridges.
Pavement restoration included; crack repair, Class B CIP and pre-cast panel patching, CAL mix rapid set concrete repair patching, crack filling and micro surfacing & patching. Additional work included; various roadside safety improvements to ITS (CCTV camera, fiber optics & MVDS assemblies), LED lighting and mast arms, guardrail, drainage, erosion control and maintenance of traffic along the northbound/southbound mainlines and median.
